Gleek -out!

I'm getting a late start on my post today. We had "Buddy Day" at school so I spent all morning playing carnival games with 4 little boys.  The Kids enjoyed it, and bonus I got my exercise in and a little sun.
(pictures below are not from buddy day but aren't they cute?)

So as you guys have heard me say before, my husband and I are crazy! (OK not really but, well maybe we are hahaha) and y’all have also heard me say before my husband is a work-a-holic, and we don't get to do a whole lot of "Date Nights". Well with that said we do have one silly little Daily thing we do.

You all have heard of the hit T.V. show Glee right?  Well one of our local radio stations  Plays one song from the hit T.V. series Daily at 3 O'clock. It has officially been dubbed GLEE O'clock.

With that said, We do watch and like the show. At first it was just a me thing, where I'd watch the show and laugh about something that happened and tell him and he'd look at me like I was completely insane.

Eventually he started catching bits and pieces (because I'd see something funny and then I'd save it (THANK YOU DVR) and show him later) .

Finally one day he said "HEY don't watch tonight’s Glee without me". And so now it is officially one of the shows we watch. (I DVR all the shows we want to watch and we try and watch about 1 show an evening. Some shows get pushed back to after the seasons are over ect. Anyways I digress)

At the beginning of the school year I happened to come across Glee O'clock, because at 3 in the afternoon I'm in our schools car rider line picking up my boys, and told him about it.  So now where ever he is in the area, he stops and goes out to the truck and turns on the radio to listen to Glee with me. It has officially become our "Thing".

I look forward to hearing our radio dj ring the school bell and announce "Attention all Gleeks, It's that time..."  and then he goes into his announcement of the song. :)
There are a few of our favorite performances from the show, and yes they are on my Ipod too!
See told you we are crazy!

Do you have a crazy "Thing" you do regularly?

WHAT-I- Ate WEDNESDAY

As many of you do, I am linking up over at peasandcrayons for a What I Ate Wednesday post.

(I surely have been meaning to do it for a while so here we are)

My first post is kind of boring, as in your standard meals, but I promise as we go along I'll get more inventive ha.

My Breakfast because I am a total child at heart and still eat kiddo cereal!

My lunch was a pbandj sammich

I ate one of these around 3 (right after I took my 5 hr ah-thank you very much!)

My hubby got me an ozarka water tank and I LOVE IT! So one coke a cola, one 5 hour and TONS of water! Hydration is key!

And my dinner was spaghetti and yes it is homemade sauce and whole grain noodles! (YUMMY)

So yeah, that's pretty much a good example of what I eat daily, as in a bowl of cereal, a sammich, and a decient meal.

Salsa Meat Loaf

I know that most everyone has their style of Meatloaf, either that was passed down from their mothers or they've discovered for themselves. I wanted to share ours, my inspiration came from a recent magazine article that I read about the worlds most " Famous" meatloaves. Some people use barbecue sauce, some use ketchup, some use tomato paste, I even saw one with pesto, but not one was made fresh from scratch without using some sort of  "canned" or pre-packaged ingredients.  My mother- in- law gave me the recipe for this one, and I have since elliminated pretty much all the pre-packaged ingrediants so I'll give you both versions, but for something a little Non traditional its pretty good stuff!

Her version:

2 cans of petite diced regular stewed tomatoes
1 can of rotel (spice is your's to decide, we use mild)
2 eggs
1/2 (approx) a roll of crackers crushed
1 lb of hamburger meat (can use turkey, chicken, or pork)
1/2 Onion diced
Salt and pepper

Drain tomatoes and rotel, Stir together. Divide in 1/2 set 1 half aside for later use
Combine meat, eggs, crackers, and 1/2 the tomato mixture. Season to taste.
Place in greased pan
Bake at 350 for 1 hour. (drain at each 30 min. mark)
Top with reserved tomato mixture, and bake for additional 15 min.

My Version:

6 Med. sized Roma tomatoes
2 cloves of garlic
1/2 Bell pepper (can use any spiced pepper)
1/2 Onion
1/2 package of crackers crushed (I use whole grain crackers)
2 eggs
1 lb of ground meat
Salt and Pepper

Dice all of the above veggies and combine. Reserve 1/2 for topping.
Combine Ground Beef, 1/2 Veggie Mix, Eggs, and Crackers. Season to taste.
Place in greased pan
Bake at 350 for 1 hour. (drain at each 30 min. mark)
Top with reserved tomato mixture, and bake for additional 15 min.

*** If you'd like your veggies cooked not just heated place topping on top before placing in the oven for 1 hour.

How do you cook meat loaf?

Weekend recap 4/29/11- 5/1/11

Howdy Friends!  Hope everyone had a lovely weekend. It was sunny (but windy) here again this weekend, which means LOTS of outdoors type stuff.

Friday I did a whole lot of NOTHING. And booooy was it a welcomed change.

(there is a great possiblity that my 5 year old can take better pictures than me)

Saturday we played a baseball game, then went to one of our towns little festivals it has yearly.

(My two are the ones in the black pants in this picture.)

This one was the Crawfish festival. (no crawfish was consumed by my family, we aren’t much mudbug eaters, blech!) But we did do a little shopping there (yes, there is a HUGE possibility that I’m a sucker for craft fairs.*sigh*) and the boys rode the UNSAFE SCARE ME TO DEATH  roller coaster rides. (I love roller coasters don’t get me wrong, but I HATE the kind that travels all around the USA. I’d much rather ride the rides that are stationary and at theme parks.) At least the guys had fun. J

Sunday we had family time, complete with returns to a few stores (boy it seems we do this often but really we don’t)  a nap, and some yard work, then we watched a movie and ate pizza.

I leave you guys with my inspirational song of the week, (you can find more fabulous songs by her here) and since I am a music lover, tell me your most played song, that you just can’t seem to get enough of lately!

What did you guys do this weekend?

Photo Friday Take 4

Another busy week has passed. So lets see what I did this week. I didn't manage to get many pictures taken this week but we'll see what I can come up with.:)

Friday

I wanted to steal this horse! He was so sweet.

Saturday

The boys picked and Ate their very first tomato of the season.

Sunday

It was Easter.

Monday

I made this bouquet for my MIL's birthday.

Tuesday

I spent the better part of my Tuesday "Editing" my Bluebonnet pictures. ( Long story but some how our camera put a blue color cast on ALL the pictures we took during that trip, and I had to "Fix" them. I'm enclosing 2 pics a before and after.)

            Before                                                             After

Wednesday

I took my MIL to go get a Pedi. She'd never had one, it was supposed to be for her birthday but well we didn't manage to make it Monday.  Since it was her first time we got neck and shoulder massages for free. (my toes only got a touch up on polish since I've had a pedi. recently)

(obviously not my photo, link is here)

Thursday

I have sworn many times that I would not have a garage sale again EVER, but looks like I might have to at least try.

Friday

My puppy decided he needed my clothes basket.  Not much has happened yet today, because the day is still young.

What are your plans for this weekend?

Did you watch The Royal Wedding?

This + This= Bluebonnets?

OK so I know I've alluded here, and here, and here, about a "Project" in the works. So with out further delay it is FINALLY time for the big reveal.  (Warning Lots of pictures in post)

(This + This = Bluebonnets?)

Every year since my sons were born we have went to the Bluebonnets in the Texas Hill country. This year proved challenging with baseball in full swing, and the fact that we haven't had a stitch of rain since mid January, it wasn't looking too promising. We usually try to make it before the yearly festivals, but yet again that was a no go. Timing as with everything else is key, too early they aren't all up yet meaning puny fields, go to late and  they are wilting and again puny fields.

Every year for the Bluebonnets I pick a crazy theme and we head on our way. This year was our yellow chairs. Finding chairs that were fluffy and yellow, and were totally the vision in my head, HA, wasn't happening. So this year I improvised and found some cheap chairs and cheap paint. (Please enjoy the mini trip down memory lane with me.)

After doing some worrying  research, I found a website called the Bluebonnet report. They pretty much have all the know when it comes to anything Bluebonnets. Needless to say we found us a field, and we were on our way. We drove  8 hours round trip with these huge chairs in the back of my husbands truck. Funny sight to see I'm sure, we did have a few people we passed look at us with curiosity. So anyways heres this years Bluebonnets. :)

So do you have a family tradition?
